Washington, July 19, 2019
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26), member of the Hispanic Caucus’ Education and Labor Task Force, announced that the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is awarding $1,530,254 to Monroe County School District for its Head Start Program.
“I am thrilled to announce that the federal government is supporting Monroe County’s Head Start program,” said Mucarsel-Powell. “Head Start is a successful program that creates environments for our children and their families to succeed in school based on the needs of our local community. I am eager to see this funding help Monroe County expand and improve its early learning, health, and family well-being programs so more South Florida families can thrive.”
